Our Wilmington Fire House 38 Crewneck represents a history rooted in the Los Angeles harbor area. FS38 initially housed an auto chemical hose company, then Engine Co. No 38 and finally evolved into the current Fire Station on East "I" Street. Wilmington has traditionally been a working-class neighborhood, with a strong presence of maritime activity, shipping, and refineries, which have contributed to the fire station's critical role in the community.
